Robert Kennedy

Robert Kennedy is a native Texan, having been born and raised in Houston, Texas, where he currently resides. He attended Clear Lake High School and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Thereafter, he worked as a "landman” acquiring oil and gas leases for Texas oil companies.

During the 1980’s, Mr. Kennedy and his father entered the food business and owned and operated a restaurant. After successfully operating the restaurant business, Mr. Kennedy felt compelled to help ordinary people in need of legal protection and decided to pursue a legal career. While working during the day and attending law school at night, Mr. Kennedy obtained his law degree from The South Texas College of Law where he participated in national events with the South Texas Mock Trial team. Upon being licensed, Mr. Kennedy was invited to join a trial law firm where he received his initial courtroom experience. After one and one half years with the trial firm and becoming skilled in the trial of lawsuits, he opened a private law office where he has been representing individuals and small businesses ever since. Mr. Kennedy is happily married with one son and two daughters who are in high school and middle school. He is a active member of Second Baptist Church and has coached various little league sporting teams, and is currently a Boy Scout leader.

Mr. Kennedy has been Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2001. Representative Statewide Texas Cases

Wrongful Death:

  • Mr. Kennedy, with co-counsel, represented the survivors of a garbage handler who was killed on the job when he was run over by the rear wheels of the garbage truck after slipping off the step which was located in front of the defective unguarded rear wheel of the garbage truck.

  • Mr. Kennedy, while associated with another firm, represented the survivors of a construction worker who was killed on the job when he was crushed by falling concrete on a demolition job which was improperly barricaded.

  • Mr. Kennedy represented the survivors of a truck driver who was killed by a drunk driver.

  • Mr. Kennedy represented the survivors of a retiree who was killed while riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle when an automobile driver negligently changed lanes and ran him into a ditch with a culvert.

Electrical Shock and Burn Cases:

  • Mr. Kennedy, with co-counsel, represented a cable installer who was negligently backed into a power line while working from the bucket of a cherry picker and was catastrophically shocked and burned.

  • Mr. Kennedy, with co-counsel, represented the driver of a BMW automobile who was catastrophically burned when her defectively designed gas tank exploded upon a side impact with a telephone pole.

Industrial & Construction Site Cases:

  • Mr. Kennedy, in conjunction with other attorneys, represented multiple workers in a petrochemical refinery who were injured when a thirty story crane, one of the nation’s largest mobile cranes, collapsed in a chemical plant as a result of operator error and inadequate training.

  • Mr. Kennedy, while associated with another firm, represented a worker who fell into a scalding sump in a chemical plant due to an improper drainage system in the plant.

  • Mr. Kennedy, while associated with another firm, represented the survivors of a construction worker who was killed on the job when he was crushed by falling concrete on a demolition job which was improperly barricaded.

Railroad Cases:

  • Mr. Kennedy, with co-counsel, represented over 100 injured residents in a neighborhood exposed to toxic gases emanating from a train car as a result of the car being "misplaced” by a railroad and chemical company.

  • Mr. Kennedy, with co-counsel, has represented railroad workers with damaged spines and impairment as a result of inadequate safety procedures and practices on the worksite.

Trucking and Auto Collisions:

  • Mr. Kennedy has represented hundreds of clients severely damaged as a result of negligence in the operation of 18 Wheeler trucks and automobiles.

Vicious Dog Attacks:

  • Mr. Kennedy has represented clients for severe and permanent injuries from being attacked by unusually aggressive and powerful dogs.
